During the literature, we found that the antimicrobial action of benzofuran derivatives appears to generally be a lot more dependent on substitution with the heterocyclic furan ring than on substitution for the aromatic moiety.60 Telvekar and co-workers investigated a number of benzofuran-3-carbohyd
